I blinked and my newborn was calling my name,
Asking for a snack, and to play a game.
I blinked and my baby was running around,
playing with friends on the big-kid playground.
I blinked and my toddler was going to school,
A new back pack, a hug, "this is so cool!"
I blinked and my child was well on his way,
to becoming the grown up he'd be one day.
I blinked and my teenager was waving goodbye,
leaving my home to live his own life.
I blinked and my baby's whole childhood went by,
It went just that fast, in the blink of an eye.
